Wednesday 15th February Sheeps Tor

A mild evening and nine of us starting from the Arboretum for a gentle walk around Sheeps Tor (49) and then up to the top with the Plymouth lights in the distance.  Then over the other side to the multiple stone circles for the break.  Across to Deancombe where on the way back some time was spent observing the clear night sky under the guidance of Keith.  Tom (back after six months with a newly repaired foot) could see the lion in the stars but I couldn't. On to the Royal Oak where John, standing upright and smiling, was waiting for us with his newly repaired hip. Walking tonight Mike, Sue, Keith, Tony, Tom, Anne, Jon and Katie.

Note for Ceri

  1. Hi Mike,
Long time no see - Ceri(was Allen) from Eagle Star Fire & Accident Dept 1987-1992.
I just happened upon your blog after moving from one Facebook page to another of my old Eagle Star colleagues.(Too much time wasting going on here today!)
I wanted to say what lovely photos - really nice to see all the lovely places on Dartmoor. We stayed in the area last year & walked Lydford Gorge (though not for as far as we'd have liked, but having a heavy toddler in a backpack we did as much as we could!)It's good to see all the places from different perspectives & might borrow some ideas of where to walk next time we are down that way as our youngest son gets a bit more stamina!
Anyway, it looks as though you are keeping really well - you hardly look any different all these years later. I still remember the day that Sue Iannucci (Guest) & myself cycled from Cardiff to Barry Island & back 20+years ago & you drew me a diagram of the different types of cycles to see what we had hired (I was a bit naive back then!) I might pop back to have a look at your blog now & then to see how your challenge to complete the Tors is going. Hope you don't mind.
All the very best & happy walking, Ceri
