Sunday 13th May Strangles Beach and High Cliff

Another cool bright sunny day and time for somewhere different  - the coast for a change - Strangles beach on the Cornish coast.  We hadn't been here for about 30 years and remember it as a remote beach and one involving a bit of a scramble to get down to.

Looking across to High Cliff - which is Cornwall's highest cliff at 731 feet.

Going down - at least there are steps here now...

...it gets steeper...

...and steeper with a ladder at the bottom.
All those years ago the only way to get down was to slide and getting back up was difficult.

Our one regret was that we hadn't brought a picnic to enjoy on the beach.

Time to go back up again and all those steps - with a rope to help to start with.

Lunch was in Crackington Haven which was quite busy and much busier than it used to be all those years ago.

From here back to High Cliff to enjoy the views..

...south towards Tintagel...

...north  past Bude

Finally, a short drive to Boscastle to enjoy the harbour.
