Wednesday 6th February Four Winds

A bitterly cold wind and a touch of frost underfoot as we set off from Four Winds - first to the double Stone Row and then to the nearby Stone Circle.  In the centre of the circle was a stick with roses attached and there was a rose on each stone making up the circle - a touch of magic or pagan rights perhaps?   Presumably, the roses had been left behind so that others passing would know they had been here.  Next across to King's Tor and then down to the railway line before going around Foggintor Quarry.  Then up to North Hessary Tor - only 1.5k but it seemed longer in the strong wind.  We returned past Hollow Tor before returning to the cars and on to The Whitchurch Inn.  With Keith, Liz, Peter, Charles Mike and Jon.
