Wednesday 22nd October Bere Ferrers

A rather dull day for our walk which started at Bere Ferrers. The tide was out leaving the light to shimmer across the wet mud. Our leader for the day had the walk starting half an hour later than normal so we were a little delayed.

We left the village on the Tamar Valley Discovery Trial.... and were soon heading off down the hill to the footpath alongside the mudflats.

....and were soon heading off down the hill to the footpath alongside the mudflats.

A brief moment with the sun shining and soon we were removing our outer gear.

Then a steeper walk giving this view in the far distance of the Tamar Bridge and Brunel's railway bridge.

Down to the bridge over the railway line where we took our break and the orange men came into view. Apparently they had been inspecting the side of a cutting where there was concern it might collapse. Seems amazing that it takes four men to do this.

On past these inquisitive cows....

Past the barn with a lot of memorabilia!

Eventually into the woods for the walk back down to....

... the edge of the estuary...

... and back to the start.

An excellent lunch in The Plough With Liz, Brenda, Stella, Viv,  Linda, Sue, Keith, Jon  and Pete
