Sunday 6th September Beating the Bounds

About 150 people gather in The Old Station for the start of the walk. This walk last took place 5 years ago. The weather conditions couldn't have been better.

We took a short walk to the first boundary stone where in accordance with the old traditions a youth was beaten by Eric - chairman of the Parish Council.

Across the moor

Under Magpie viaduct

For a group photo.

For those that wanted it there was the river crossing (those that didn't took an alternative route)

Across the very temporary bridge over the deeper bit.

And a helping hand up the bank on the other side.

Safety on the main road

Then through the fields.

To Plasterdown for...

...a pasty and a glass of cider.

With lots of time to rest and chat.

Two more boundary stones and then it was down Jordan Lane

Back in to the fields and up the hill...

...across a little stream.

Into the hamlet of Huckworthy.

Stepping stones and another little stream.

Past the combine harvester.

To return to the village.
