Tuesday 2nd August - Hare Tor

We set out from Lane End.  The intention was for an extended picnic walk to Fur Tor. Dartmoor was covered with mist, fog and rain and there had been a huge amount of rain in the previous 25 hours.

Up to the leat and then on to....

...Ger Tor as it emerged out of the mist.

Around to Tavy Cleave Tor and we could hear the thunder of the River Tavy below. It became clear that there was no possibility of crossing it.

Tavy Cleave Tor.  No views anywhere today - in fact it was very much like a night time walk, you just didn't need the torch to see where to put your feet!

We headed on to Deadlake Foot and then down to...

...the Rattle Brook - usually a gentle little stream but not today. A coffee stop here.

Then up Rattlebrook Hill to Chat Tor before going on to Sharp Tor.

Over to Hare Tor where Jon got his Kisu out for us to sit in for our picnic.

Then down over the edge of Hare Tor and back to the start.

With Jon, Terry, Charlie and Brenda.
